Fashion watch and jewellery designer Inter City Group has appointed specialist field marketer, Instore, to provide stock monitoring, supply chain management and returns processing. Services include visual merchandising, order generation, replenishment, stock auditing and the return of obsolete or damaged product.
Inter City Group previously managed its own in-house field team, taking resources away from the core business. Under the contract, Instore will use its national footprint of 350 specialist merchandisers to generate eye-catching displays and help provide seamless stock management using real-time data-capture systems.
Instore, wholly owned by Smiths News, was awarded the contract following a competitive tender involving seven other firms.
David Baker, sales & marketing director at Inter City Group, said: “Instore has a strong reputation and will help our in-store performance keep time with our designs. They have a defined retail pedigree and detailed technology system to provide specialist reporting and monitoring for our entire retail range. This technical and merchandise expertise drives speed and generates rapid sales responses when it’s needed most. As well as providing an efficient service offer, Instore have provided a cost effective alternative to our previous in house operation.”
