Lantmännen Unibake UK has signed a temperature-controlled warehousing contract with Norbert Dentressangle.
The company, which is owned by Swedish frozen bread product supplier Lantmännen Unibake, operates a bakery with seven high-tech bakery lines, employing more than 400 people.
It specialises in fast food bread, as well as producing baguettes, sandwiches, scones and doughnuts for the UK food service and retail sectors.
The third party logistics company will provide a daily collection service from its manufacturing site in Milton Keynes through its shared-user temperature-controlled network, as well as supplying 15,000 pallet spaces in its cold store in Easton, Lincolnshire.
Norbert Dentressangle will provide additional storage at its Bedworth cold store in Warwickshire, which supports one of Lantmännen Unibake UK’s major retail customers.
Norbert Dentressangle is able to flex the amount of storage to accommodate significantly increased volumes during the summer months.
Lantmännen Unibake is also a majority stakeholder in Bakehouse, for which Norbert Dentressangle provides a complete frozen logistics service.
Graham Wright, Lantmännen Unibake UK’s production director, said: “Norbert Dentressangle gave us every confidence in their ability to serve the demands of a fast-moving, highly seasonal storage and distribution operation and to provide a solution which could not only flex but also grow with us as we continue to expand our product range.”
