Redhead International has joined forces with Cosco Logistics UK to provide European-wide distribution services for companies importing goods from China.
The service integrates sea transport from China with break bulk and goods distribution into the UK, Ireland and the rest of Europe.
It will also allow goods to be dropped off at various ports in the Mediterranean en route to the UK.
For importers with Eastern and Southern European distribution requirements, Redhead will link up with its network of European partners to arrange breakdown and distribution of goods to destinations in these areas. This is designed to improve delivery times and reduce unnecessary road journeys.
Redhead will use its own warehousing and storage facilities in the UK, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland to break bulk and distribute goods bound for destinations in the UK, Ireland and Northern Europe.
Austin Duffy, marketing manager at Redhead International, said: “This is an exciting partnership with Cosco Logistics UK and one which will enable Redhead to offer a highly efficient service for customers importing goods from China which need to be quickly and efficiently distributed into the UK, Ireland and Europe.
“In addition, with the added flexibility the new service brings of being able to unload goods for distribution into Eastern and Southern Europe, prior to arrival in the UK, we are not shipping goods West to then go East into Europe, saving time and improving our green credentials.”
