Woolworths has chosen Kuehne + Nagel as the exclusive provider for their global order management in Australia and New Zealand in a three year deal.
Woolworths is one of the largest retailers of grocery, general merchandise and consumer electronics in the region.
K+N will be responsible for the global order management of Woolworth’s entire international sourcing, using its order management software.
The contract also includes freight management from Europe, Middle East, Africa, South East Asia, the Americas and Oceania with value-added consolidation services in the large LCL areas of Bangkok, Naples, Northern Europe and Australia.
The partnership will help integrate Woolworths suppliers across its international supply chain.
K+N’s order management software, supported by its KN Login application, will provide the company with web-based visibility and reporting including interfaces from other service providers.
Ian McDonald, Woolworths’ general manager of global sourcing, said: “Woolworths looks forward to leveraging both the expansive Kuehne + Nagel network and KN Login, which will provide us with cross-divisional visibility of our suppliers’ and service providers’ performance to drive greater efficiency throughout our international supply chain.“
