Damco has launched a less-than-container-load (LCL) service from Asia to the Baltic countries with guaranteed weekly arrivals.
The new LCL service allows Damco’s customers to source directly from any origin in Asia through its mega hub in Tanjung Pelepas, Malaysia to the final delivery point in the Baltics.
Kenneth Nielsen, Baltic country manager said: “In times where 20′ container rates are increasing and order sizes are decreasing, sometimes down to one or two pallets, we can now provide our customers with an additional flexible LCL service that significantly cuts transport costs.”
He added that companies sourcing in Asia and importing to Eastern Europe used to have to source via Gothenburg or St Petersburg in the past.
Damco’s network covers more than 270 offices including Latvia, Lithuania, Belorussia, and Kaliningrad. Apart from the mega hub in Tanjung Pelepas, Damco’s customers can source from multiple origins and consolidate at Damco’s mega-hubs in Tanjung Pelepas, Kaohsiung, Jebel Ali, Panama, Singapore, Rotterdam, and Hong Kong.
