Polish health & beauty chain Rossmann has picked Vanderlande Industries to modernise its Lodz-based hub, with the installation of a six-aisle miniload automated storage and retrieval system, in a deal worth seven million euros (£6m).
The distribution centre is set to go live with the order fulfilment system in 2010, and will help support the chain’s plans to add a further 185 stores in Poland (giving it a total of 550) by 2012.
