Honeywell has launched the Dolphin 7600 mobile computer with built-in GPS-tracking hardware.
The 7600 features location-based capabilities designed to improve asset tracking and management.
The GPS data collected can be used for business intelligence systems and strategies, such as route optimisation and delivery verification.
The 7600 with GPS is an extension of the standard 7600, and comes with all of the same features as the original model.
Shift-PLUS power management technology provides more than ten hours of battery life, eliminating the need to replace the battery during a single work shift.
It also features Adaptus Imaging Technology, which enables the Dolphin to capture images and read 1D and 2D bar codes, and OCR fonts.
The GPS unit connection is handled through the onboard Windows Mobile 6 operating system, meaning no extra installation, configuration, or customising of proprietary drivers, applications, or services is required.
