Bibby Distribution has acquired part of warehouse management system developer Data Driven Software to enhance its network of warehousing facilities nationwide.
The move will increase the development team, which will be located in a new facility in Stafford, and give the company the flexibility to develop new innovations in warehousing techonogy, and enter the software market to provide IT systems to third parties.
IT director Robert Lee said: “We are very pleased to confirm this acquisition that will allow us to invest in our flexible but highly functional low-cost solution which we see as a corner stone for our ongoing growth and development.
“We have for some years been deploying the Data Driven Software’s Claws 2 product under a strategic agreement with the development staff under long term contract to us. We have now concluded a position where this part of their business has been acquired by Bibby Distribution and we are delighted to welcome our new employees.”
