A new service connecting the Port of Tyne to Southampton has been launched by Feederlink increasing its service at the port to four weekly sailings.
Feederlink is a Dutch based feeder specialist and subsidiary of Irish Continental Group.
John Tye, Port of Tyne commercial director, logistics said: “This further enhances the scope of the port’s supply chain, offering our customers greater flexibility by directly connecting the Tyne to Southampton, the second largest container port in the country.”
The new service targets deep-sea import and export traffic and will expand Feederlink’s existing route network, providing its clients with more than 26 calls each week at UK ports.
