Samsung Electronics UK has renewed its UK brown goods distribution contract with NYK Logistics (UK).
The operation is for the distribution of all Samsung TVs, DVD players, home entertainment systems and digital cameras throughout the UK and Ireland.
The new contract sees Samsung’s space requirement increase significantly in line with its growth strategy.
Samsung has also extended its high value goods contract for mobile phones and the white goods contract for domestic appliances.
Ian Ulvmoen, general manager logistics at Samsung Electronics UK, said: “Change has been a big part of 2008/09 operations and NYK has embraced this message from Samsung as well as maintaining the overall mission in assisting Samsung becoming number one in all markets we trade in.”
Ian Veitch, chief executive of NYK, added: “The renewal and extensions to these contracts means that Samsung’s entire UK supply chain continues to be outsourced to NYK from point-of-entry to point-of-delivery.
“We will continue to work in partnership with Samsung to ensure an agile supply chain, with the flexibility to accommodate changes in product range and growth.”
