Geodis Calberson is pushing ahead with its UK expansion programme with an investment of £2 million.
It plans to grow its revenue and increase market share in all four sectors of the company within the next 12 months.
Geodis Wine Logistics is extending its service to provide global supply chain solutions utilising Geodis’ existing networks but co-ordinating operations from a new centralised management team in Dover.
Geodis has also announced a “strategic alliance” with APC Overnight. This will allow Geodis to promote a UK and Ireland parcel service, and enable APC Overnight to strengthen its UK and European service by accessing the UK Geodis Calberson Fortec network, and its Watford Gap international hub. Shared use and/or development of warehouses may also be on the cards.
Fortec, Geodis’ pallet division, has invested in a bespoke IT system ForTrack which will enable customers to track orders across Europe via the internet.
Fortec has also amalgamated its booking facility and marketing with Geodis, and is launching a new livery. Another change is that its network director Neil Hodgson has now been made managing director.
The fleet is also to be revamped with orders for tractors, trailers and articulated lorries.
