The Co-operative Group is using Jaama’s online fleet management system to manage more than 3,000 vehicles nationwide.
Previously the group had been using a central system that had been introduced in the 1990s and according to group transport manager Ronnie Hutton, it had reached the “end of its useful life”.
He said: “The business has expanded significantly in recent years and we wanted our depot managers to have access to the fleet management system at a local level.”
Currently employees at about 15 hubs have system access which enables them to take local responsibility for vehicles, drivers, service, maintenance and repair issues and fuel management.
