Pollock Scotrans has struck a deal with Masternaut Three X to supply a web-based vehicle tracking system across its complete truck fleet.
The logistics company will use the system to gain real-time views and data on the location of each vehicle and driver as they make deliveries throughout the UK.
It will use the GreenerFleet module to help monitor environmental and driver performance; the system will provide reports on fuel usage, idling and speed.
Harry Mulvey, financial controller, Pollock Scotrans, said: “Fleet tracking has come a long way in terms of management information and the Masternaut system is extremely comprehensive in the amount and range of data it provides. Customers also recognise the benefits of live tracking and many require their transport partners to use it.
“With Masternaut we will get all the information we need and it will be in real time. This will allow us to proactively manage the fleet and alert customers of any alterations to delivery times. They are also aware that such a system will improve safety and environmental performance and this fits in with their own policies.”
The system will also provide accurate payroll reports, which will enable Pollock to gradually phase out the need for drivers to submit timesheets.
