Zetes has acquired ImageID, which it has partnered with in the past, including the company’s assets, patents and intellectual property.
Around 12 of the company’s employees form a new division at Zetes Competence Centre offering ImageID’s Visidot system for tracking and tracing products.
Visidot is based on vision technology and is designed to identify hundreds of barcodes in a few seconds, with 100 per cent accuracy. It can also detect wrong and missing labels, storing digital images for improved quality assurance.
The system has already been installed at a number of companies in Europe, including Seachill and Kautex Unipart in the UK, Emsland Frischgeflügel in Germany, Mix Buffet and Groupe Jacquet in France and Campofrío in Spain alongside Zetes.
Alain Wirtz, CEO of Zetes, said: “ImageID’s solutions have a great potential and integrate very well within our identification solutions portfolio for the supply chain…The Zetes teams already have experience in the implementation of Visidot, as the company has partnered with ImageID for the Campofrío project. These internal competences will now be reinforced. We are therefore very confident about the further development of this business in Europe”.
