Sovex has taken over FKI Conveyors and is merging the existing company into three separate brands: Sovex Systems, Sovex Service and Sovex Vehicle Loader.
As part of the deal, Sovex has acquired the company’s 300,000 sq ft Gainsborough factory, where it will retain all workers, while also expanding operations to include telescopic boom conveyors creating more jobs.
The Gainsborough factory is the UK’s largest purpose built conveyor manufacturing facility and will work alongside the company’s Prenton site.
David Lindfield, managing director at Sovex, said: “If manufacturing in the UK is going to grow then companies need to support it. British engineers are among the best in the world and feedback from our customers proves there is a demand for home-built products. Sovex has a strong domestic output, one that will get bigger as we take on people at Gainsborough.”
