Goodrich Power Systems has renewed and extended its contract with DB Schenker in the UK for a further two years.
Previously, DB Schenker looked after Goodrich Power Systems’ airfreight requirements, both import and export, primarily to and from Canada and the USA .
This then moved on to encompass the dispatch process on site. The company worked on a package which reduced overall shipping costs by some 20 per cent through identifying key trade lanes and the volumes which move on them.
A bespoke small parcels service has also been introduced, which enables the company to save up to a third on previous shipments costs on a significant proportion of items under 25kg.
Goodrich Power Systems’ senior commodity manager, Bill Deaton, said: “Schenker has worked with us to overcome process issues and to meet our bespoke requirements by providing a value-add in-house team covering functions across goods in and dispatch.”
