Skillweb has created a mobile communications system designed to help home delivery operators handling returns.
The company has added Return-it to its Houndit suite to enable couriers to fulfil the demands of reverse logistics for multiple retail operations, by simplifying and streamlining supply chain processes through parcel tracking.
Return-it offers a range of functionality to deal with full and partial pre-advised pick-ups, exchanges, regular collections, collect while at delivery location and full ad-hoc collection.
The module includes consignment notes and other documentation typical of retailers return processes, allowing a carrier with a mobile device to perform the returns requirements of different retail customers within a single job.
When combined with the depot functions of Houndit, the system enables full lifecycle delivery, collection and returns processes with visibility and tracking throughout.
Pre-defined areas allow the carrier to deal with the handling and storage challenges of reverse logistics such as the grouping returns by retailer, quarantine of items, and rerouteing of products for repair.
Paul Ridden, managing director of Skillweb said: “Many parcel carriers and couriers are struggling to handle the returns process for multiple customers in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
“Our new mobile communications solution can help companies address the major challenges associated with reverse logistics by enhancing operational capabilities to maintain customer loyalty and drive business growth.”
