Palmer & Harvey has selected VSc Solutions’ Integrated Mobile Delivery Management System for its 550-strong fleet, which handles 5,800 deliveries a day across 12 depots.
The software gives Palmer & Harvey a real-time view of drivers, vehicles and delivery activity across the entire delivery process.
It incorporates vehicle tracking, analysis of route and delivery performance and electronic proof of delivery.
The company is an independent and national wholesaler of tobacco, confectionery, chilled and frozen, grocery and convenience goods, with nationwide distribution facilities to clients including Esso, Shell, Tesco and Sainsbury’s, and for manufacturers such as Nestlé.
Richard Slater, logistics and development director at Palmer & Harvey, said: “The new system will provide us with greater visibility in terms of real-time information on vehicle and driver activity, as well as alerts to any areas of inefficiency in the delivery process. This ultimately means we can reduce our operational costs and provide a more effective and pro-active service to our customers”.
