Kewill has launched Release 3.0 of its global, integrated freight forwarding software, which is designed to manage multi-modal logistics requirements.
The latest enhancements include an expanded global shipment module, which now provides shipment visibility from the point of creation through to completion, and ensures shipment data is visible throughout the shipment life cycle.
With permission, the overseas agent and handling agent can use the global shipment module to check all potential inbound shipments as soon as a booking is created at the origin office, and the controlling and offshore offices can check all relevant shipment data.
Kewill Forwarding customers dealing with shipments to the USA will also benefit from a simplified process, which provides an automated link to the United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP), via a Kewill portal, using the data already held within the system to process the mandatory Import Security Filing (ISF), and automatically record the reference number returned.
Further features of the new release include enhancements to triangle shipment processing, automated and fully integrated eDoc facilities and the introduction of an improved pre-alert process.
The system now provides a customer-defined workflow for pre-alerts, which enables the validation of shipment data based on pre-set rules, and includes an option to reject/re-send, streamlining the process of transferring user-defined information from export to import where required, reducing processing costs and minimising the margin for error.
