Poundland has taken delivery of 42 new Volvo trucks, including 30 FM-460 6×2 tractor units and 12 FL-240 4×2 rigids, taking its total fleet up to 150 vehicles.
All vehicles will be used on store delivery routes nationwide and operate from the discount retailer’s base at Willenhall in the West Midlands.
The FM-460s are equipped with Globetrotter cabs and I-Shift transmission, while the FL-240s, which feature box bodies and day cabs, will use Volvo’s I-Sync automatic transmission.
All will be supported under a full Volvo contract maintenance package, lasting for five years on the FLs and three on the FMs.
Maintenance work will be carried out by supplying dealer Hartshorne Motor Services in workshops on Poundland’s own premises.
