The three year contract was fully integrated in January 2010 and NFT is delivering more than 50 SKUs.
Austria-based Nom Dairy has invested over £60m in its UK plant in Telford. Based on 24 acres of land, of which only 40 per cent is currently used, Nom aims to increase production to 500m units of yogurt-based product within three years with further plans to double that figure within five years. Nom has ambitious plans to dominate the UK yogurt market, and therefore a dynamic and responsive logistics partner is vital to its success.
Nom chief David Potts said: “Consumer demand for yogurt remains high – they desire a premium quality, great tasting product made from natural ingredients. Our latest figures show the market has risen in value by 7.4 per cent year-on-year to an annual total of £1.1bn. Innovation is at the heart of what we do; from the manufacturing process through to the supply chain so Nom is perfectly placed to respond to this demand.
“Our vision is to streamline our processes to benefit consumers while maximising supply into the major retailers. With NFT’s unique knowledge in logistics capability and their intelligent link between retailers and manufacturer, they are pivotal in our plans.”
