Citizen Systems Europe has developed an entry level printer designed to reduce the cost of producing labels in both transport and logistics applications.
The compact CL-S700DT is a high volume, direct thermal model which Citizen claims is priced up to 30 per cent less than similarly specified models.
It incorporates a metal chassis and heavy duty metal case as standard, which is capable of withstanding rigorous use over extended periods.
Citizen has developed a hi-open case, which lifts vertically and is hinged at the rear, enabling media to be changed without moving the printer and settings to be adjusted from the front of the machine.
The hi-lift printer mechanism, combined with a simplified media feed path, enables labels to be changed in around ten seconds, which the company reckons is up to ten times faster than competing printers.
It has an output of 203dpi at eight dots/mm running at speeds of up to 175mm/sec (seven in/sec).
