Vectura, a supplier of logistics services for producers, agents and importers of wine and spirits in Norway, has signed a three-year deal with Kuehne + Nagel to outsource its warehousing and distribution activities.
Under the agreement, K+N will manage the company’s 8,000 sq m facility in Trondheim, which currently handles 11 million units per year and has more than 3,700 active stock keeping units.
K+N will select and manage the transport carriers used to undertake all deliveries from the hub.
Additionally, K+N will gain idle warehouse space and office capacity at Trontheim not currently used by the Vectura operation, which it will use to expand its network in Norway. It will offer warehousing, and sea, air and roadfreight services to new and existing customers.
Yngve Ruud, national manager for K+N in Norway, said: “By establishing a sustainable business at the site which will exist beyond Vectura’s planned exit of Trondheim in 2013, Kuehne + Nagel is also able to preserve the jobs of the 22 employees currently working there.”
