Brewing giant SAB Miller has become the latest major business to sign up for The Fresh Connection, the supply chain competition developed by Scala Consulting.
There are now just three weeks to go before the start on 12th April. Other companies taking part include Heinz, Kraft Foods, Cadbury and Kimberly-Clark .
The web-based training competition is designed to help staff understand the impact a supply chain has on company performance. The Fresh Connection will pit teams against one another over seven weeks to successfully transform the business of a “virtual” fruit juice manufacturer.
The competition will culminate in a final at Wroxall Abbey in July where the winning team will be selected using a detailed performance evaluation and presented with four “Platinum” tickets to The British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
John Perry, managing director of Scala, said: “The response we’ve had has been great and we are pleased to have attracted some highly respected brands to participate. Not only is The Fresh Connection a cost effective training tool for companies to teach staff how to maximise profitability, it provides a fantastic incentive for the winning team.”
Scala will be promoting the game at the The Food & Logistics Show.
Logistics Manager is the media partner for The Fresh Connection which is sponsored by AEB International, BiS Henderson and Slimstock and supported by The Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport UK and The Institute of Operations Management.
