Ian Baxter, managing director of RH Freight has called for MPs to reveal their transport policies in the run up to the general election.
has written an open letter to the transport ministers from the three main political parties, asking for details of their policies on various transport-specific topics including fuel duty (including fuel duty escalator and fuel duty/oil price balancing), investment in road infrastructure, privatisation of the road network, road pricing and longer trailers, as well as raising general corporate and employment law questions about as their attitude to corporation tax, working-time and flexible working regulations.
He said, “As Managing Director of a British, privately owned business, I believe that we have the right to know what policies each of the three main parties are proposing and how these may affect our industry and our business.”
