Air France Industries has chosen RedPrairie’s warehouse management system for its spare parts warehouses.
The first site to be implemented with the system will be the company’s new spare parts 4,300 sq m warehouse at Orly airport. The site is dedicated to the storage of aeronautical spare parts and consumable materials and houses more than 45,000 SKUs. It serves three aircraft maintenance hangars 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
As well as increasing efficiency, the system has also helped to reduce storage space of around 40 per cent.
Pierre Bosse, senior VP components & services at Air France Industries, said: “This WMS will address critical issues such as optimising space, inventory and warehouse processes while improving service quality and working conditions for employees.”
The deployment is part of Air France’s Project GLOBE (Global Logistics Operations Bring Excellence) which aims to create a modern, global logistics network with KLM.
