Combilift has launched launch of two new products including a 25 tonne four-way forklift – its largest model so far.
The C25,000 has three double sets of wheels, an unladen weight of 32t and a 170 HP John Deere engine. It was developed for Gloucestershire-based BladeRoom, which supplies energy saving factory built modular data centres to the IT sector.
BladeRoom chief executive Paul Rogers said: “The ideal solution from our point of view was a machine that could move our 14m x 4.2m, 18t modules in the same way as other operations move pallets – just on a much larger scale of course.”
The second new product is a straddle carrier, designed for container handling for haulage, distribution and shipping operations even with relatively low throughput levels.
Managing director Martin McVicar said: “We saw a gap in the container handling market for a cost effective, very light but nevertheless extremely stable alternative to container handling forklifts, reach stackers or mobile cranes.”
Aggreko, which supplies temporary power and temperature control systems, is the first customer for the straddle carrier, which will work at its Dumbarton site.
