The DSV Group is challenging the legendary Edwin Shirley Trucking with the launch of DSV Entertainment Logistics. It says the new division will provide transport and logistics across the entertainment industries with a particular focus on the music industry at launch.
DSV Entertainment Logistics, which will be headquartered in the UK, will focus on the music, sport, TV & film, live events, exhibitions, theatre & art sectors and will provide a one-stop shop solution for all of these industry’s transport and logistics requirements.
The company aims to focus primarily on the music industry at launch and will provide services across the whole spectrum of the business from bands just starting out through to global stadium tours.
It believes that its global presence means that it can offer economies of scale and local sourcing of services.
Rene Falch, chief commercial officer of DSV A/S and managing director of DSV Entertainment Logistics said: “We see this as an area of great opportunity and potential growth particularly in live music and feel we can provide real value and expertise though our international reach and the economies of scale we can offer.”
* Since Edwin Shirley’s launch in 1974, its purple and yellow trucks have become a familiar sight at concerts across Europe. Its clients include Madonna, Beyoncé, Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen and Britney Spears.
