Williamson became supply chain director in 2007 after joining Waitrose in 2004 via stints at Tesco and Sainsbury. As supply chain director Williamson was responsible for Waitrose’s distribution operation as well as setting the direction for its end-to-end supply chain and delivering the major changes required.
He joined the Partnership in June 2004 as head of buying, grocery. In April 2005 his portfolio was widened to include wines, beers, spirits and tobacco. In April 2007 he was appointed supply chain director.
Williamson started his career in marketing and buying with Tesco before moving to J Sainsbury where he covered a number of senior buying roles as well as being promoted to procurement director and trading director.
Hodgson had been with Waitrose since 2006. Mark Price, managing director, said: “Richard has done a great job for Waitrose but I respect his wish to return to Yorkshire. He goes with our gratitude and all good wishes for the future.”
