Panalpina has begun operations from a new 450,000 sq ft multimodal transit and logistics hub in the Dubai Logistics City free trade zone.
The facility has a 120,000 sq ft multi-purpose logistics operating area with 10,000 VNA pallet positions in a temperature-controlled ambient environment and a 150,000 sq ft lay down area.
The facility will be Tapa A certified, it has 23 gates including one mega door, ten dock levellers, air cargo pallet roller beds and 45 ft ceiling height.
The site is located in the Dubai Logistics City free trade zone adjacent to the new Al Maktoum International Airport and the Jebel Ali seaport between Dubai city centre and Abu Dhabi.
Panalpina offers the full range of multimodal freight services combined with logistics products including VMI (vendor managed inventory), postponement, customization, pick & pack and warehousing.
Claus Schmidt, Panalpina managing director of the Arabian Belt area, said: “This facility represents a milestone in our expansion strategy in the Middle East.
