Resilient ambient grocery volumes and efficiency gains are contributing to a record year for Boughey distribution, according to parent group NWF.
It said trading for the year to 31 May was ahead of expectations and food distribution was on course to deliver a record result, it said. “This has primarily been achieved as a consequence of more efficient operations against a backdrop of resilient ambient grocery volumes being shipped across the UK.
The group has secured long term funding of £51m for future developments.
Chief executive Richard Whiting said: “The Group’s strong trading performance is a reflection of the underlying strength of all three of our operating divisions and we anticipate reporting another set of record results, for the year to 31 May 2010, in our prelims in early August.”
