Birds Eye has launched Forever Food, a company-wide sustainability programme.
Through a number of initiatives, Birds Eye aims to reduce carbon dioxide emission by 30 per cent by 2020, against the 1990 baseline.
In addition, the food producer plans to use 15 per cent less packaging by 2012, and send zero waste to landfill from UK operations by 2015.
It also aims to reduce water consumption by 20 per cent by 2020, compared to 2007.
The plan has been developed in conjunction with the WWF, the Marine Stewardship Council, the Food and Drink Federation and the Prince’s Countryside Fund, which launches on 22nd July.
