Iveco has extended its range of Daily and EcoDaily light commercials in the UK after introducing 7.0-tonne models in van, chassis cab and crew cab configuration.
The 7.0-tonne versions offer an increased payload capacity of 470kg compared to the regular 6.5-tonne option, providing more than 4,700kg of body and payload capacity for chassis cab models.
The range has a chassis width of 2,174mm and is aimed at urban operations. Iveco reckons the 7.0-tonne version will also be a viable alternative for fleets running lightweight 7.5-tonners over short distances, which don’t need the full scope of a Eurocargo.
It also claims that a fully-laden 7.0-tonne EcoDaily can transport a load equivalent to more than three regular 3.5 tonners combined, which could reduce total emissions by some 60 per cent by using one vehicle instead of three.
Martin Flach, product director of Iveco UK, said: “We’re expecting significant interest from fleets which have a requirement to deliver heavier goods in an urban environment, such as newspapers, stationery and drinks. The vehicle recovery sector is also a prime target market.”
