The average revenue per container is now 32 per cent higher that as year ago, according to figures from Neptune Orient Line – the Singapore-based shipping line.
Average revenue per forty-foot equivalent unit was US$2,892 for period 6 – against US$2,190 for the equivalent four week period last year.
Volumes were up 29 per cent to 221,900 FEU for the period. NOL said volumes were higher on all major trade lanes – particularly the trans-Pacific and intra-Asia trades.
For the year to date NOL saw a 39 per cent rise in container volumes to 1,347,500 FEU. The average revenue per FEU was US$2,643 – 11 per cent up on last year.
