The Unipart Group has been awarded the Carbon Trust Standard, which is awarded to companies that have taken direct action rather than paying to off-set their emissions.
Unipart has measured and reduced its carbon footprint over the past three years across its UK operations.
The company’s energy saving projects included installing low energy lighting and intelligent energy management systems which control heating and ventilation at major sites.
It also installed a telematics system in its Unipart Automotive van fleet, which resulted in a reduction of more than 100 vehicles, reducing fuel emissions.
