UPS has taken Electric Vehicles International’s walk in van for regional demonstrations.
Electric Vehicles International has worked with UPS over the last year to develop a specialised parcel delivery van.
Demonstrations of the EVI-WI will begin in Sacramento, before moving to San Franciso and Reno.
The EVI-WI is built on a Freightliner Custom Chassis glider with an Utilmaster body.
It has been approved by the California Air Resource Board and will offer buyers a $20,000 rebate through the Hybrid Truck and Bus Incentive Project.
Steve Riley, vice president of sales and marketing for EVI said: “We believe the 3 regional locations will help prove that our truck can perform in any setting from urban to hills and various climate conditions.”
