TNT is to invest 170 million euros in China over the next few years to expand the operations of its road distribution business, TNT Hoau.
The plan is to enhance the day-definite road distribution network, introduce new services, and hire additional staff. The company currently has a network of 1,500 depots and 57 domestic hubs. The day-definite network covers 800 depots throughout China.
The express operator also unveiled five electric delivery vehicles which it believes is the Chinese express industry’s first full electric vehicle fleet. The vehicles, which are in operation in Shanghai, were designed and built locally by Dongfeng Motor.
