Adidas has renewed its UK and Ireland distribution contract with Wincanton for another three years.
Wincanton has distributed the sports brand’s products since 2008 using a fleet of Adidas vehicles is supplemented with Wincanton’s own vehicles.
Stock is imported from the Far East, which Wincanton collects from rail heads in Manchester, Widnes and the Port of Liverpool.
20 per cent of the inbound container volume is delivered direct to retailer distribution centres throughout the UK.
Wincanton will also manage and control the company’s Benelux volume, despatching daily to Mainland Europe.
Rob Magill, head of supply chain market north for Adidas said: “Wincanton brings a really proactive approach to the table, coming up with new ideas and opportunities where we can look at improving our vehicle fill and reducing our emissions.”
