The British Retail Consortium has published issue two of its Global Standard for Storage and Distribution.
The updated issue has a new lay out, simpler presentation and clearer explanation of requirements.
The standard includes audit requirements, scheme rules and provides the basis for an accredited certification of sites storing or distributing food, packaging and consumer products.
It also enables certification of sites that wholesale products or carry out a range of contracted services.
The publication is designed to promote continuous improvement in operating practices and to ensure best practice in handling, storage and distribution.
