Retailers can now offer free returns to their international customers, with a new service by Swiss Post International UK.
Distance retailers either enclose a prepaid return label with deliveries, or give the customer access to download it from the internet.
The retailer covers the cost of the return, but the service is expected to encourage overseas sales.
Consumers can return small goods parcels of up to 2 kilos from any post office, or by dropping the parcel in a post box.
Paul Taylor, chief executive of Swiss Post International UK, said: “The returns solution means that our clients can provide an even better customer service, which hopefully means greater revenue generation for them and higher customer retention. We have also been able to offer free returns of small goods in countries where such services are not yet common practice.”
The service is now available for UK retailers’ customers in Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Finland, France, Greece, Ireland, Latvia, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Sweden, Slovakia, Slovenia, the Czech Republic and Hungary.
