A partnership of procurement hubs has won a three-year contract to deliver procurement support to the 11 ambulance services across England.
The partnership was formed in August, between the East of England NHS Collaborative Procurement Hub, PRO-Cure Collaborative Procurement Hub and South East Coast Collaborative Procurement.
Commercial staff from the three hubs will work with heads of procurement from the ambulance trust to develop a national procurement strategy and deliver an annual work-plan to make cost savings.
Howard Rolfe, director of procurement at the East of England NHS Collaborative Procurement Hub said: “Working with an extended customer base across the public sector will help deliver significant cost savings and efficiencies.”
The strategic partnership is designed to increase savings delivery to its 80 customer trusts through leveraging greater purchasing power.
