Fleet drivers across the UK are being sent on inefficient journeys because of inadequate telematics equipment, according to a survey by Trimble MRM.
“Our survey revealed that many managers think the equipment they are using is not fit for purpose,” said Andrew Yeoman, managing director of Trimble.
“Companies should be taking every step necessary to ensure economic stability and fleet managers have a great opportunity to make the most of the latest telematics equipment available to allow them to do this.”
Telematics technology suppliers Trimble surveyed 300 fleet managers, and found that 60 per cent of fleet managers believe the best single way to reduce cost and under-performance is to reduce the number of unnecessary miles being driven.
The survey also found that 85 per cent of those polled believe using fuel more economically is their biggest challenge.
