Eleven managers from Norbert Dentressangle have graduated with the company’s Foundation Degree qualification, eight with distinction.
Six more employees are expected to graduate in January, with 19 having recently completed their first year and a new 18-strong cohort starting the course in September.
The two year course was introduced in 2008 and was the first in the country to offer the Institute of Leadership and Management’s level 5 Extended Diploma in leadership and management as part of a foundations degree.
Dentressangle developed the course in collaboration with the University of Northampton, and it includes modules such as team leadership, personal development and health and safety. All the assignments are work-based, enabling candidates to incorporate their studies into their daily work activity.
Mike Fearey, the University of Northampton’s programme leader, said: “It has been a real privilege to lead the course. All the students have thrown themselves into their studies and the results – eight distinctions and two merits – were a great achievement and reflect the students’ hard work.”
