NYK has increased the frequency of its Duisburg Rail Express service, and now operates a six cycles per week between Rotterdam and Duisburg.
The block-train service is an intermodal facility that connects the Rhine/Ruhr region of Germany with the Port of Rotterdam by way of NYK’s inland container terminal known as D3T.
D3T is classified as a container yard so can be classed as a place of origing or a destination for Bill of Ladings.
Klaus-Peter Barth, managing director of NYK Line (Deutschland) said: ” Our expectations for the D3T as a key hub for the hinterland are now fully realised… We expect growing throughput figures over the coming years.”
