Pharmaceutical supplier Relonchem has chosen the Potter Group to store generic prescription medicines at Knowsley on Merseyside.
Potter is handling some 500 pallets at the Knowsley site – staff inspect and palletise product from incoming containers and store it ready for delivery to wholesalers, grocery multiples and the NHS.
Bells Healthcare, a sister company of Relonchem, has been using the facility for a number of years to store over-the-counter medicines. The site has a wholesaler dealers licence from the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency.
* The Potter Group has reported a 97 per cent rise in pre-tax profit to £632,000 for the year to April 2010 while sales were down slightly to £14.8m.
Managing director Matthew Lamb said the company had responded to the recession by controlling costs and focusing on its strengths in chemicals, pharmaceuticals and other value added sectors.
“With reasonable levels of activity including strong organic growth from our existing customers we expect our 2011 results to be similar to those of 2010.”
