South African retailer Edcon has selected Oracle’s retail merchandise planning and supply chain execution software.
The retailer has some 1,300 stores in three divisions including discount stores, department stores and media stores.
The selection of Oracle retail merchandise financial planning, Oracle retail size profile optimisation, Oracle retail item planning and Oracle retail assortment planning is hoped to create a standardised planning platform with embedded process workflow across its multiple brands.
Edcon expects the new systems will improve merchandise management, allow better linked product and financial planning and integrate pre-season and in-season planning with execution strategies.
