Property specialist sbh has been hired to project manage the replacement of two old units with a single new warehouse for Macmillan Publishers in Pontarddulais near Swansea.
The existing low level buildings will be demolished before the new 63,900 sq ft warehouse is constructed. The new building will be 12.9 m high with a corridor link to another existing warehouse.
The new building will be used for bulk storage of books, and will have nine-level high pallet racking accessed by narrow-aisle stackers.
Roof and in-rack sprinklers will be fitted to protect the hundreds of thousands of books that will be stored.
This follows the completion of a £6.5 million 110,000 sq ft distribution centre on the site.
