Air cargo moved back into profit for Air France KLM in the first half with operating income of 18 million euros compared with a loss of 344m euros in the first half of 2009.
Sales were 40 per cent to 1.48 billion euros while unit revenue per RTK was up 37 per cent to 26 cents.
The improved sales figures reflect a 2.6 per cent rise in traffic rose while capacity was down 3.6%. As a result there was a 4.1 point rise in the load factor to 67.7% enabling a hardening of rates.
