Nightfreight takes new CEO
Nightfreight has appointed Ian Smith in the new position of chief executive officer.
Managing director Peter Loudon and group financial director Ian Horsfall will now report to Smith.
He joined Nightfreight in March as a consultant and then became chief operating officer and a member of the board of directors. He has contributed across the business, in particular to the ‘white glove’ specialist handling Pacemaker, dedicated logistics and Deliver2Home delivery channels.
Smith has over 20 years’ experience of senior management and board level appointments in third party logistics with some of the world’s leading brands, including Exel Logistics, NYK Logistics, Unipart and Tibbett & Britten.
New blood at RedPrairie
RedPrairie has made John Bailey its retail industry director and Mark Gauder its sales manager, UK retail and hospitality.
Bailey has worked for workforce optimisation service Verint, Workplace Systems and Temposoft, working with major domestic and international retailers including Next, Marks & Spencer, J. Sainsbury, Co-operative Group and Metro Group.
Gauder joins RedPrairie having worked at companies including IBM, Microstrategy and SAP, and has a wealth of retail solutions experience.
Bailey and Gauder will be responsible for working with major retailers across the UK and the rest of EMEA, to benchmark their operations and identify the specific value of RedPrairie’s retail workforce and store execution management solutions within their organisations.
