Over the past 48 hours, DHL Express has been delivering film reels for one of this years biggest film releases, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 to more than 550 cinemas across the UK and Ireland in time for its official release.
David Turner, film print manager at Warner Brothers said: “One of our biggest concerns is ensuring that the distribution of our film reels remain highly secured at all times. DHL have a vast global network. Our films can stay within that network, no matter where they need to be shipped, and are subject to the same strict security procedures throughout the entirety of their journey.”
The delivery marks the largest distribution for DHL’s cinema division to date. More than 100 DHL couriers, in planes, lorries, vans and ferries have carried 26 tonnes of film across the UK.
